Getting back in my groove

This week has been an exciting week for me and pawrents, on Thursday I got my stitches out and was able to go on my first car ride since my surgery. My tail has not stopped wagging since then! I have started to walk a bit faster and am desperately wanting to get back up on my favorite couch in the living room. It’s going to happen, I am just waiting for the perfect time when my pawrents aren’t watching! To celebrate this milestone in my journey my pawrents are planning on taking me to my favorite park to enjoy a picnic and some time in the sun together. I am also excited to get my new Ruffwear harness that will help me get in and out the car since I am starting to go back to work with my dad now.  On Monday, we are meeting with my oncologist to discuss my chemo and new diet options. My pawrents are a bit nervous to start the next chapter in my journey, but I am a tough girl and am determined to beat this thing!

Day stitches were removed

My hair has grown back quicker than I expected, but I am still rocking my new “do”.

I got to show off my new clothing accessory this week too! Thanks Tripawd friends for the thoughtful gift.

  1. Aww pretty girl, pink is definitely your color!

That’s so neat you get to go to work with Dad. I can’t wait to see what your workday adventures are like.

  2. Char, you will be up on the couch in no time. Excited to see your new harness. You are quite the fashionista! Hugs to all

  3. What a great time; car rides, picnics in the park and getting to go back to work with Dad. Life is good! Keep up the great work and mom and dad will take care of the rest.

  4. Isn’t it so fun to see them doing things again that they haven’t been able to?! It almost feels like a new puppy and it makes us proud to see their lives go back to normal! It’s different of course, but it’s much better than they had been with the pain.

We’re about at the same stage with our dog. Ours just had her first IV chemo last week. We landed on the lucky side with having no side effects. Although we’ll be alternating chemo drugs, so we may not be so lucky next time.

Hope your appointment goes well on Monday and look forward to reading more about Char’s progress!
