Hello Tripawds!

Add an excerpt to your posts to provide a summary for readers in many blog themes!

Hi Tripawd Friends! My name is Char (short for Charcoal). My mom and dad, Drew and Liz, rescued me three years ago. Since that day I have loved going on car rides, running along the local trail and going to work every day with my dad.

On Thursday, August 8 I was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. It was a really hard decision for my parents, but they decided it was best for me to have surgery to remove my front right leg. It has only been a day since my surgery, but they are nursing me back to my old self and I know it won’t be long until I am chasing rabbits in the back yard again.  I am excited to become part of the Tripawd family and am looking forward to sharing my journey with you!

  2. Welcome Charcoal and family-

You are beautiful. I’m glad you found the site, but sad that you had need to find it.

Know that we are here to help, offer a shoulder to cry on and even help you smile when you most need it. You’ll be hearing from everyone else soon.

Make sure and put lots of area rugs down on any hard surfaces that Charcoal walks on and an elevated bowl is the best thing since sliced bread for front amp tripawds :-)! The next couple of weeks are the roughest with the trauma of major surgery, adapting to a new normal, coming off pain meds, phantom pain and other sundry things, but know that you will be celebrating every little victory and stop that is made.

Welcome again to the family and keep us updated!!

    Luanne & Shooter
